Anini Beach - August 13, 2019

Image
We had planned to go to Haena Beach but the surf advisories called for dangerous rip currents so we decided to try Anini Beach instead.  It was gorgeous.  So clear and water was very shallow and the waves were basically non existent. Snorkeling was not really successful.  Saw fish and an eel but no turtles :( The sea cucumbers were kind of gross looking.  One of the nicest things about Hawaiian beaches is the way the trees come right to the waters edge so you have beautiful shade if you want.  But the other best part about this beach was the dead tree in the water for jumping.  What a gorgeous day and some of my favorite photos of the trip We left to go get some lunch at our local grocery store (Sushi) and get ready to go to Hanalei.

Waipouli Beach Resort Pool time

We love the pool at Waipouli.  You can play in the waterfalls, ride the water slide or just float along. Our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the pool which I loved.  We could see the ocean in the distance which was an added bonus. My favorite was the view at night with the torches lit and the pool glowing blue.  It's just my favorite pool anywhere.  The pool has this cool little beach part so the little ones can wade and then it spills over to a part that's about 3 ft deep.  The maintenance was impeccable so every day then sifted all the small rocks back into the wading area.   The Pulmaria blooms were floating in the water when you drift around the pool.  Inside the waterfall "cave" were so many blossoms placed in the wall of the cave.  It was so pretty Erin, Frank and Ethan strolling around the pool coming back from the sunrise.

Captain Andy's Sunset Cruise

Image
After going to Waimea Canyon and the Kauai Island Brewing Company we headed to our sunset cruise.  It was such a hot afternoon but we managed to get changed and ready to go in Port Allen.  The sunset cruise takes you along the Napali Coast and then fed us Filet Mignon, Shrimp. carrots, potatoes, and a delicious Key Lime Cheesecake. Ready to go! Ok now for some scenery photos.  It was spectacular! Key Lime Cheesecake   Ethan mostly hung out with the captain And the sunset did not disappoint! Finally got to go on the hammock The crew and the chef
